Work together
Workspaces
Work on apps with other people: your personal workspace, team workspaces, roles, invitations, spending limits, connector settings, moving apps, sharing a single app, and the audit log.
A workspace holds apps and the people who work on them. Everyone in a workspace can open every app in it, each with a role that says what they may do.
There are two ways to work with someone else:
| Share one app | A team workspace | |
|---|---|---|
| What they get | That app, and nothing else you have made | Every app in the workspace |
| Who they are | A guest on the app | A member of the team |
| Plan | Every plan | Business |
Your personal workspace
Every account starts with one. It holds the apps you build and is yours alone: nobody can be invited into it. To work with someone on one of its apps, share that app. For a team across every app, make a workspace.
Make a team workspace
Open Settings, then General, press New workspace, give it a name and press Create. Team workspaces are part of Business, and the price does not change with the number of people: nothing is charged per person.
Without Business, the New workspace button carries a Business label and opens a short door instead: See Business or Not now. Your own apps are not affected.
When you belong to more than one workspace, switch between them from the workspace menu on the dashboard, or with the buttons at the top of the workspace settings. The menu also has Open workspace, Leave workspace (for everyone but the owner), Add members and, in a personal workspace with at least one app, Share an app. The gear in the dashboard header opens the workspace settings.
The workspace settings are a group of five pages in the menu on the left: General, People, Plan and credits, Audit log and Connector settings.
Good to know
- Apps on Business can be made private to the workspace when they are published, for apps on their
setherion.appaddress. Editors can change who may open an app. See Publish to the web. - A workspace can share folders with everyone in it, and any member, viewers included, can create, rename or delete a workspace folder. Deleting a folder leaves its apps unfiled. See Your projects.
- Connecting a domain is for owners and admins. See Custom domains.
