Change your app

Media and design tools

Make images and video with AI and place them in your app, change a picture in the preview, bring in a design from Figma or Canva, and mark up a picture to show what you mean. What each costs and who can use it.

Pictures and video are part of most apps, and Setherion has several ways to get them in: AI makes them for you, you pick a different photo, you bring a design in, or you point at a picture and say what is wrong with it. This page covers each one, what it costs, and what your plan allows.

Most of an app's pictures need none of this. A build finds photos by itself, and when it cannot find a fitting one it can generate a few at no extra charge. The tools below are for when you want something specific.

Where they are

In the editor, press the + beside the box at the foot of the chat. Two rows open their own small box: Media AI (an image or a video, made and placed) and Design (from Figma or Canva). Media AI only shows once you have an app open. The same tools are reached from the preview with Edit, on a picture you click.

Generate an image or a video

Choose it

Press +, then Media AI, then Generate image or Generate video. A card appears in the conversation with the options. Nothing is made yet.

Set the options

For an image: the shape (landscape, square or portrait) and the quality (Fast or Quality). For a video: the length, from 4 to 15 seconds, the resolution (720p or 1080p), the shape (16:9, 9:16 or 1:1) and whether it has sound.

Say what and where

Write one message in the box at the foot, saying both what to make and where it goes: "an elegant green armchair, replacing the sofa in the grid", or "waves at sunset, as the hero background". Send it.

Setherion makes the picture or the clip, stores it, and then changes your app to use it where you said. The price is on the button before anything is spent, and the credits are given back if the making fails.

You do not have to open the menu. If a request in the chat clearly asks for an image or a video, the same card opens by itself, with a button that says how much it costs: Generate and apply. Pressing it makes the picture and puts it where you asked.

Image: shapes, models and prices

Fast is quick, a second or two, and is on every plan. Quality is a better model, slower, for pictures that matter, and is for paid plans.

ShapeFastQuality
Square1 credit3 credits
Landscape1 credit2 credits
Portrait1 credit2 credits

Your words are used as you wrote them, and a short description of your app is added behind them, so the picture suits its subject and its colours. Pictures never contain text or watermarks.

Video: length, resolution and prices

A clip is 4 to 15 seconds and takes one to three minutes to make. It plays in the app on a loop, and starts muted, as browsers require; visitors can unmute it. Sound is made with the clip at no extra cost.

Length720p1080p
5 seconds140 credits310 credits
8 seconds220 credits490 credits
10 seconds275 credits615 credits
15 seconds410 credits920 credits

Every length from 4 to 15 seconds is priced the same way, in proportion. A video costs far more than a picture, which is why it is on the paid plans only. Compare these with your monthly allowance in Plans and credits.

Who pays, and the daily limits

The credits come from the owner of the app, on their plan, not from whoever pressed the button. Somebody who can only view an app cannot make media in it; a team member may be held to the limit the workspace gave them.

There is also a daily limit per person, to stop a mistake running away: 200 generated images and 20 videos a day. Past it, the message says to try again tomorrow.

Uploaded and generated media count against your storage: 100 MB on Free and 20 GB on the paid plans. Uploaded pictures can be PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF up to 8 MB, and videos MP4, WebM or MOV up to 50 MB.

Change a picture in the preview

With Edit on, click a picture and the tools bar at the foot of the preview has Image and Video buttons. See Preview for the rest of the bar.

Image
  • Replace image, or Upload image if the element is not a picture yet.
  • Set as logo and Set as favicon.
  • Remove image.
  • Generate with AI: describe the picture ("a plate of carbonara, shot from above, warm light"), choose the shape and Fast or Quality, and press Generate. The price is on the button. It takes about ten seconds, and the result replaces the picture you clicked.
  • Adjust size & fit on the main tools bar sets how it fills its place.
Video
  • Replace video, Remove video, and Add video here where there is no video yet.
  • Generate video with AI from a description. Choose length, shape, resolution and sound, and the price shows before you press Generate video.
  • Animate the selected image: on a picture, turns it into a clip. The shape is taken from the picture.
  • Upload a starting frame: a picture that becomes the first frame of the clip.

On Free, the panel says video is part of the Pro plan, and the button offers an upgrade.

Photos in your app

A build chooses photographs for the pages that need them, and checks that they fit. When a reply used photographs, a strip of small pictures sits under it. Click one to open Photos in your app: one row per photograph, named after the place it fills, such as the banner, a product or a section's title. The photographs on the page open in the preview come first, from the top of the page down, and the rest follow under Elsewhere in the app. Show takes the preview to a photograph and outlines it.

The one on the left of a row is in the app now. Below it are alternatives found and checked at the same time. Click one to try it in the preview, and click it again to keep the one you have. Your app changes only when you press Apply, which puts in every photograph you chose at once and costs nothing. Cancel puts the preview back as it was. Write other words in the row's box and press Other photos to look again.

On a computer the window opens over the chat, so the preview stays in view beside it. On a phone, Show folds the window into a bar over the preview, and Photos on the bar opens it again.

Every change you apply is kept in your versions, so you can go back. See History.

Photos come from a photo library, searched in the language of your app, and are copied into Setherion's own storage, so a published app never depends on an outside site. Searching costs no credits.

Your assets

Assets keeps every picture, video and 3D model you have put into your apps in one place, so a logo or a set of photos is uploaded once and used in any app. Pictures and videos you upload, attach to a message or make with AI land there too. Open it from the dashboard's menu or from the Setherion cube in the editor, and use a file with +, Assets, or in Edit on a picture or a video, where Assets sits beside Upload. See Assets.

Show what you mean with a picture

Click a picture under a reply, such as one in the strip on the version card, and it opens large, with arrows to move between them. Download and Copy are there too. Two buttons are for talking about it.

  • Draw: mark the picture in red to point at something. With Shapes on, a rough ring becomes a circle, a lopsided box a rectangle and a shaky line a straight one. Undo, Clear and Cancel are beside it.
  • Add to chat: puts the picture in your next message, with your marks if you drew any. Setherion reads the marks into a sentence ("the logo circled in red is too small") and sends that with the picture's address. Your drawing itself is not put in the page. Up to six pictures can wait in the box.

The pictures an app uses are also listed in Code, under Images: each shows its size, where it comes from, and the files and lines that use it. See Code.

Bring in a design

Design, in the + menu, has Import from Figma, which rebuilds the app to match a frame, and Import from Canva, which brings the pages of a design in as images. These are for taking a look from a design, not for making pictures. Importing costs no credits. See Import an app.

Describing what you upload

When you attach a screenshot or a photo, Setherion looks at it first: the layout, the colours, the type and the style. The thumbnail says Analyzing while it does. That description rides along with your request, so a mock-up can be recreated closely. This costs nothing, and if it cannot be done, the build goes ahead without it.

Look cards

When you start a new app, Setherion shows a look for it, drawn as a picture of the first screen, with a name and a sentence about it. Build this one starts the build in that look. See two more draws two others to compare. It costs nothing to look. See Quickstart.

Game art

A 2D game is first built with silhouettes for its characters, and the Game art card draws them properly: characters, backgrounds and items. Backgrounds and items are on every plan. Animated characters are on the paid plans, priced per set of moves, and there is a daily limit. See Games.
