Change your app

Build, Chat and Plan

The box at the foot of the conversation: Build makes a change, Chat talks about the app and never touches it, Plan asks first. And the / actions: redesign, accessibility, SEO and security reviews, polish and Power up.

Everything you change by asking, you ask in the box at the foot of the conversation. The button at its right opens a menu with three ways to send. It is named after the agent mode the app is in, like Power Seth.

ModeWhat it does
BuildMakes the change in the app. This is what happens unless you choose otherwise.
ChatTalks about the app and never touches your code. Its price a reply is written beside it.
PlanAsks you a few questions first, then changes the app. For bigger changes.

Under them, Agent mode chooses how much gets built: Seth, Power Seth or Max Seth. See Build modes. Alt+P moves to the next of Build, Chat and Plan without opening the menu.

Build

Write what you want changed, the way you would tell a person, and send. "Make the header dark" is a whole request. Setherion changes only what you asked for, opens the app out of sight to check it still runs, and gives the change a version card of its own, with Publish this version.

For how to say it so it comes out right, see How to ask.

Chat

Chat is for thinking out loud. "What would you add to this page?", "why does the form sit at the bottom?", "is this good for a phone?": it reads the app and answers, and nothing in the app changes.

When you like an answer, switch back to Build and ask for it.

Plan

Plan is Build with questions first. Before it changes anything, it asks what it needs to know. Answer, and then it makes the change. Use it when you know the goal but not every detail: a new section of the app, a booking flow, accounts.

Chat on the dashboard

The box on the dashboard, where a new app starts, has the same three ways to send: Build, Chat and Plan. Choose Chat to think an idea through before anything is built: what the app is for, who uses it, what Setherion can add. Nothing is built while you talk, and each reply costs a few credits, written beside Chat in the menu.

Once the idea is clear, a card under the reply shows What gets built: the request as it will be sent. Build this sends it, and the new app starts the way any other does, with a short proposal and a look to choose before it is built. The conversation belongs to no app: it stays while the tab is open, and the × over it closes it.

The row under the box

Along the foot of the box, from the left:

What it does
+Everything that goes into the request: a file, a design, a service, a skill. Opened out below.
The model buttonSays Auto until you choose a model. Open it for the list; AI Controls is at the foot of it.
The microphoneSay it instead of typing. See below.
The Build buttonBuild, Chat or Plan, and Agent mode. It shows the name of the one you are in.
SendAppears once there is something to send. While a run is going it becomes a square: press it to Stop the run.
The + menu

The editor's menu has five rows.

  • Upload file: an image or a document (PDF, DOCX, TXT, Markdown, CSV or JSON). A picture is looked at and described, a document is read, and what is in it is used by the request. Click the little picture or file name afterwards to see what the builder made of it.
  • Media AI: Generate image and Generate video, made by AI and placed in the app. See Media and design tools.
  • Design: Import from Figma rebuilds the app to match a frame, and Import from Canva brings a design in as images. See Import an app.
  • Connectors: the services this app is allowed to use. A line above the box, This app may use, lists them, and the × on one stops the app using it. Nothing can be connected from this menu; a service that is not connected sends you to the page that does that.
  • Skills: capabilities to build into the app, like sign-in or payments. See Skills.

On the dashboard, before an app exists, the menu has Upload and Assets side by side, Import a design, which opens Import from Figma and Import from Canva beside the menu when you rest the pointer on it or click it, and over the menu on a phone (where Canva is not offered, Import from Figma is a row of its own), Import an app, Connectors, Skills and, under GitHub project, Connect your repo.

The model button

It shows Auto until you pick something else, and then the name of the model you picked. Auto chooses the best model for each request. The list shows every model, and the ones your plan does not include carry the name of the plan that opens them: pressing one opens the upgrade window. Under the models, AI Controls holds the rules every change follows and the files that are frozen. See AI models and AI Controls.

The microphone

Press it and talk: your words appear in the box as you say them, in the language of your browser, after anything you had already typed. Press it again to stop. Then read it over and send; nothing is sent by itself.

Chrome, Edge and Safari recognise speech themselves. A browser that cannot, such as Firefox, records what you say and has it turned into text, and the box shows a spinner while it does. If the browser is not allowed to use the microphone, a message asks you to allow it for this site. Voice input does not use credits.

Under each message

Every reply in the conversation has a row of small icons under it.

What it does
Undo this changePuts the app back the way it was before this change, and keeps the undo in History as a version of its own.
CopyCopies the message.
Copy message linkA link that takes you to this message in the conversation.
EditPuts your message back in the box, to change and send again.
RegenerateRuns the request again, for a different try. Only on the latest reply.
More optionsHow long the work took, and how many credits it used.

When a change has finished, its version card sits under the reply: the time, Live or Not published, and the buttons Preview, View files and, on the newest change only, Publish this version. The flag on the card marks it as a milestone. See History.

Connect a service from the editor

The cube at the top left opens the Setherion menu: Dashboard, Connectors, your credits, My profile, Account settings and Sign out. Pointing at Connectors lists every service with ON beside the ones you have connected, and clicking one opens it.

Open it

Click Connectors, or one service in the list. Integrations opens over the editor, so the app you are working on stays where it is.

Connect

Follow the steps for that service. See Connectors.

Use it in the app

Once a service is connected, a card appears: "Stripe is connected. Next: use it in this app". The button Use in this app puts the service on the app's list and writes a request in the box for you, then closes Integrations. Nothing is built until you press Send. (Services that only help the builder, such as design and code ones, do not offer this step.)

Back, at the top left of Integrations, goes one step at a time: from a service's page to the list, and from the list to the editor. The browser's Back button does the same.

The / actions

Type / in the box to see actions: things Setherion does to the whole app, or to the screen you are looking at, one per message. The list is on the left, and what the highlighted action does, step by step and at what price, is on the right. Arrows choose, Enter picks, Esc closes.

ActionWhat it does
RedesignA new look on every screen, and nothing else changed.
AccessibilityUsable with a keyboard and a screen reader: contrast, labels, focus.
SEO reviewChecks how search engines see the app, then fixes what it found.
Security reviewChecks the code for security issues, then fixes them.
Polish this screenMotion, the empty and error states, and the wording, on the screen you are looking at.
Power upFills an app built with Seth in to what Power Seth builds. Pro and up.

Each one is an ordinary change: it is charged, gets a version card, and can be undone like any other. SEO review and Security review run the same checks as SEO & AI search and Security first, then fix what they found. If the check finds nothing, nothing is changed, and a check that already read this exact code is used again at no charge.

Created by you

Under the built-in actions, Created by you holds instructions you wrote yourself, to use on any of your apps: "add our cookie banner", "translate everything into German and French". Write instructions you can use on any app adds one. Only you see your own. See Your own skills.

An action runs only when you pick it from the menu. Writing "redesign it" in a message is an ordinary request, not the action.
